The average life span of a cactus is 150 years. Woodpeckers carve holes in the cactus to feed. Other birds use those same holes to nest.

To spot Raptors, we used a fast shutter and continuous burst mode. Eye on the viewfinder, with our lens pre-focused and exposure locked, we waited for the Great Horned Owl’s flight.
